At the 10th National Wagyu Competitions (2012), 【Nagi Gyu】 achieved the remarkable result of ranking 2nd nationwide.
The National Wagyu Competitions, organized by the National Wagyu Registration Association, is a nationwide evaluation event for Wagyu (specifically Japanese Black cattle) held once every five years in rotating regions across Japan. Commonly known as the "Zenkyo," it is also referred to as the "Wagyu Olympics." This prestigious event brings together approximately 500 head of Wagyu cattle from all over the country. -
Nagi Gyu refers to wagyu cattle produced on designated farms in Nagi Town, Okayama Prefecture. These cattle are fed by a specified formula feed designated by the association, as well as black soybeans (known as Sakushū Kuro). The beef is officially graded by rating inspectors from the Japan Meat Grading Association.
