AMRUT Fusion Single Malt 50% NV (750mL)

ABV: 50%

Region: Bangalore, India

Distillery: Amrut

Cask Type: American Oak / Bourbon Barrels

Founded in 1948, Amrut is a family-owned pioneer of Indian single malt whisky. It gained global recognition (notably with Fusion scoring highly in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible) and is known for innovative maturation in India’s climate at high altitude

Nose: Heavy, thickly oaked and complex – curious barley-sugar notes shrouded in soft smoke. Big but seductively gentle.

Palate: Delivery starts controlled then becomes massive; smoke turns into warming full-blown peat, balanced by a vague sherry-trifle note (oaky vanilla) and barley-fruitiness, developing into intense chocolate fudge.

Finish: Slight struggle as the mouthfeel gets a bit puffy with dry peat and oak; enough molassed sweetness to carry through; spices rise up to usher it out.
