Founded in Beaune in 1859, Maison Louis Jadot is one of Burgundy’s defining négociant houses. Head winemaker Frédéric Barnier focuses on a low-intervention approach designed to express individual sub-regional terroirs cleanly and accurately across their portfolio.
Chardonnay grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled oak barrels. The wine undergoes aging in French oak barrels (around 20% new) for approximately 12 months, developing a subtle creaminess while maintaining the energetic, piercing acidity characteristic of Pernand.
"Croix de Pierre" is a famed lieudit within the En Caradeux vineyard in Pernand-Vergelesses, named after a stone cross at the site. Situated right opposite the Hill of Corton, the steep slope is packed with pebbly, white limestone soils, giving the wine a distinctively cool, mineral driven profile.
Pale lemon with green reflections. The nose is clean and vibrant, showing lemon zest, green apple, hazelnut, and strong wet-stone minerality. Racy and precise on the palate, with mouthwatering acidity and a crisp, chalky, cleansing finish.
