Description
This traditional style fish cake from Hakodate, Hokkaido, features generously cut pieces of squid blended into seasoned fish paste, creating a satisfying texture and natural seafood sweetness. “Chigiri” refers to the rustic, hand-torn shape, giving each piece an artisanal appearance and hearty bite. Gently seasoned to highlight the flavour of the squid, it offers an authentic taste of coastal Hokkaido.
It can be enjoyed simply by heating, or added to soups, noodle dishes, oden, simmered dishes, and hot pot as a versatile seafood ingredient. Easy to prepare at home, it brings the comforting flavours of Hakodate to your table.
Heating instructions
Without opening the package, place it in boiling water and heat for approximately 3 minutes.
Alternatively, make a small slit in the pouch and heat in a microwave at 500W for about 1 minute.
