Description
| Grape Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon Region: Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina Ratings: James Suckling 92 points James Suckling 92 points (2021): Dark cherries, plums, ground spices, cedar and hints of mocha on the nose. Broad and opulent on the palate, with a medium to full body and fine textural tannins. Sleek and layered with delicious fruit. Crafted by Mariano Quiroga Adamo, Gaucho’s Annual Young Winemaker who previously worked at Catena Zapata. The winery is located in Mendoza Luján de Cuyo, Argentina's premier, high-altitude boutique wine region. After a gentle destemming, the whole berry fruit undergoes 6 –8 days of cold maceration at 8° C. Fermentation is conducted with free run juice using natural yeasts. Fermentation temperatures are kept low in order to ensure a soft gentle extraction. The wine undergoes spontaneous malolactic fermentation in barrel and is naturally clarified through several rackings. 12 months in new french oak barrels. Owen Vineyard is located on the mythical Cobos Street, Altitude 960 masl. Traditional pergolas from 1933 rise as sculptures among its alleys. The variety of soils is great that it changes in a few meters: a really deep clayey profile, shallow boulders mixed with clay and sand, boulders, rich in calcareous sediments and high mineral potential. |
