Mauro Veglio is a family-run estate based in La Morra, in the heart of the Barolo region in Piedmont, Italy. The winery has been producing its own wines since 1992 and is now managed by Mauro's nephew, Alessandro Veglio. The estate cultivates approximately 19 hectares of vines  and produces five single-vineyard Barolo crus. Mauro was strongly influenced in his early days by his neighbor and modernist pioneer, Elio Altare. Under Alessandro's leadership, however, the style has shifted toward lighter extraction and aging in larger oak barrels, resulting in wines with a fresher, brighter, and purer fruit profile.

The grapes undergo maceration on the skins in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 20–25 days, starting with a cold soak at 10 °C for the first 48 hours. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, followed by 24 months of ageing in small oak barrels (30% new).

From Barolo Cru “Arborina” vineyard, located in La Morra municipality. 30 and 50 years old vines. Composed of Tortonian-era Sant'Agata marl, a mixture of clay, sand, and limestone. 

Aromas of small red fruits, blackcurrant, and redcurrant are delivered with excellent intensity and delicate overall harmony, leading to a subtly spicy finish. On the palate, the wine is soft and delicate, with superb balance between alcohol and tannins, good persistence, mineral undertones, and an elegant finish that reflects the freshness and grace of its La Morra origins.
