This apple is a special variety of the Japanese Fuji apple, and its key difference from ordinary Fuji apples lies in its unique cultivation method.

"Sun Fuji" (Japanese: サンふじ) can be summed up with one key characteristic: 

• Cultivation Method: Ordinary Fuji apples are covered with paper bags during growth to protect the skin, resulting in a brighter red color and thinner peel. "Sun Fuji" apples, however, are grown without bags, allowing them to receive direct, ample sunlight throughout the growing process.

• Unique Flavor: Because they bask in plenty of sunlight, combined with the large temperature differences between day and night in production regions (like Aomori), these apples develop high sugar accumulation. This often results in a translucent "honey core" (water core) inside the flesh. As a result, they are generally sweeter and more aromatic than regular Fuji apples. Their taste is often described as "crisp, honeyed, and fragrant."

"32's" or "#32" refers to the size grade of the apples, meaning the number of apples packed in an original case (typically about 10 kg / 22 lbs).

• Size & Weight: The smaller the number, the larger each individual apple. "32's" is considered an extra-large size, with each apple weighing approximately 280g to 350g. 

• Common Grades: Besides 32-count, other common original case sizes include 28-count, 36-count, 40-count, and so on.

• Origin & Season: These apples are primarily grown in Aomori Prefecture, Japan's famous apple-producing region. The season generally runs from September to April of the following year. Due to their excellent quality and festive appearance, they are often given as gifts during holidays and special occasions.
