-
Flavor & Aroma: It features an elegant, gorgeous aroma with floral notes of honeysuckle and jasmine, along with fruity hints of ripe peach, juicy pear, and melon. On the palate, it is smooth, creamy, clean, and well-balanced.
-
Taste Profile: The Sake Meter Value (SMV) is +4.0, placing it in the dry (karakuchi) category. It is crafted to be a "Ginjo you can drink every night," making it approachable for both sake enthusiasts and beginners.
-
Brewing Process: It uses locally sourced Tohoku rice from Fukushima, polished to 60%. The brewing water is subterranean water from Mount Adatara, which takes about 40 years to filter through the strata. It is important to note that this is a non-Junmai Ginjo, meaning that a small amount of distilled brewing alcohol is added during the process.
-
Serving Temperature: Best served chilled to highlight its refreshing and well-balanced character.
-
Food Pairings: This sake is highly versatile. It pairs wonderfully with sashimi, sushi, tempura, and other Japanese dishes, as well as white fish, shellfish, miso-based dishes, and even Western cuisine. Its dry profile effectively cuts through oily or fishy flavors, cleansing the palate.
OKUNOMATSU Adatara Ginjo is a premium-quality sake that combines world-class recognition with an accessible price point. The large bottle is an excellent choice for sharing with friends or enjoying as a daily table sake.
