| Grape Varietals: 97% Syrah, 3% Viognier Region: Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina Ratings: James Suckling 97 points, Wine Advocate 93 points James Sucling 97 points: "A beautiful, scented nose with lard and lavender on top of black cherries and herbs. Thyme, mineral, black pepper and a hint of peach. Medium- to full-bodied on the palate with fantastic integration of the fruit and the firm, seamless tannins. A subtle saline note in the lengthy finish gives extra complexity." Trapiche is ranked as Argentina's most awarded winery for the fourth consecutive year, named 'Winery of the Year' by Wine Enthusiast in 2019, and consistently recognized as one of Drink International's 50 Most Admired Wine Brands for many years. The Iscay series of wines received a high score of 99 points from internationally renowned wine critic James Suckling and was also featured in the popular Japanese wine manga, "Drops of God". Fermentation in oak vats and small concrete pools for 20-25 days at 25°C - 27.2°C. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Bottle aged for 12 months. Vineyards located in Finca Las Piedras, Uco Valley, at an altitude of 1250 meter. The soils are of alluvial, sandy loam origin. |
