This autumn, we will be bringing you a wide variety of Korean treats, so you can embark on a culinary journey through the land of kimchi in the comfort of your own home.

Delicious Taste of Korea: Kimchi Pancake with Makgeolli

Kimchi pancake is no doubt one of the most beloved dishes in Korean cuisine. It tastes even better when paired with the fragrant makgeolli, a Korean rice wine. city'super has sourced an array of wonderful Korean ingredients so you can create authentic Korean cuisine at home with ease!

Hansung Cabbage Kimchi (Cut)

Hansung is established by Ms. Soon-Ja Kim, who was nominated as the first Kimchi Master by the Korean government. The brand currently has 20 registered patents for its kimchi, including one international patent. Each product is made with safe and carefully selected ingredients, such as fresh produce like Asian pear juice, radish and chillies for marinating and adding texture to the kimchi.

Cheil Jedang Crispy Pancake Mix

This convenient and simple pancake mix lets you easily make delicious pancakes at home. Simply combine the cooking mix and kimchi paste as well as 110mL water, then stir and pan-fry for around 5 minutes. Other traditional Korean dishes such as vegetable pancake and potato pancake are also available.

Nekcheon Gijangsoo Pumpkin Makgeolli / Cameo Makgeolli (Alc 6%)

Nekcheon is the first brewer of makgeolli using gijangsoo (red clay sinking water) in Korea. The yellow Pumpkin Makgeolli has a mild and sweet taste, while the Cameo Makgeolli is made with 100% homegrown rice and has a smooth and gentle flavour.

Healthy Cook At Home Tips: Korean Stir-fried Glass Noodles with Veggies

If you’re looking for a light meal that tastes great with excellent balance in nutrients, you’ll love this easy-to-make Korean Stir-fried Glass Noodles with Veggies! Scroll down for the recipe of this super popular traditional Korean dish.

Ingredients (serves 2)
  • 250g Korean glass noodles*
  • 50g carrot, julienned
  • 50g onion, julienned
  • 50g spinach
  • 3 tbsp sesame
  • Egg, julienned, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
Seasoning for glass noodles
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
Steps
  1. Rinse glass noodles and add to boiling water. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes until soft.
  2. Transfer glass noodles to ice water. Drain, add seasoning and stir. Set aside.
  3. Set pan over medium heat. Add oil and sauté onions until golden.
  4. Add carrot, egg and spinach and sauté until soft. Add salt and remove from heat.
  5. Stir in seasoned glass noodles. Add sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame before serving.

*We recommend using Ottogi Korean Glass Noodles made with 100% sweet potato starch.
