Bring plenty of water to a full boil in a large pot. Gently loosen and add the noodles, stirring softly, and boil over high heat for about 3 minutes. Drain immediately, rinse well in cold water, and serve with dipping sauce as zaru soba (cold soba noodles with dipping sauce), topped with condiments such as chopped green onion, wasabi, or toasted nori.
