Katoukichibee Shouten was established in 1860. They use traditional methods to make junmai sakes and aged them at ice-cold temperature for long period. It is served at Japanese royal family events and has gained an international reputation.
Tasting note:
- Aged for 2 years at ice-cold temperature, the aroma is reminiscent with grapefruit aroma while flavour is mellow through the palate. Warming enhances the sake's sweetness, which balances well with its outstanding acidity. It also makes its mouthfeel softer and rounder.
