Demerara sugar is a type of brown sugar that is marginally less refined, the syrup of the sugarcane is dehydrated to form the larger crystals. It is brown in colour due to its natural molasses content. This coarse-textured, raw sweetener is perfect for coffee, tea, hot mixed drinks or baked goods.
