This brewery is from Shimane Prefecture. The name Rihaku Shuzo comes from Li Bai, a famous Chinese poet in the 8th century, and was given by a former Prime Minister of Japan, Reijiro Wakatsuki, who loved Rihaku sake as well as poetry. The brewery has been promoting sake to the overseas market since the 1980s, and is one of the pioneers that built the foundation of today’s flourishing sake market.
