city’super Organic Cotton Furoshiki

What’s more, city’super has partnered with Indian social enterprise RE-WRAP to produce furoshiki, or Japanese traditional wrapping cloths, using premium Indian organic cotton. This eco-friendly initiative is also a great way to help the disadvantaged, as RE-WRAP is committed to providing sewing training to local women in poverty so they can improve their lives. The brand-new “crafting a better lifestyle” collection marries everyday urban design and patterns with traditional furoshiki, providing customers with another gift-wrapping option that can help reduce paper waste.

About Mr. Alan Chan

Born in Hong Kong, Mr. Alan Chan is a globally renowned graphic and interior designer, brand consultant and artist with a focus on advertising and branding. He was awarded World’s Outstanding Chinese Designer by Hong Kong Design Centre in 2017. He created the corporate image and packaging design for city’super, and his classic logo is still in use today.

Fans of Mr. Alan Chan’s work will be delighted to know that he has recently designed the packaging for city’super-branded products, which features the brand’s signature green colour in an asymmetrical band across the top or bottom of the product label. The simplistic yet eye-catching form of this band takes on the shape of an exclamation mark, which playfully resonates with the inverted “i” in the brand logo.
