Ca’del Bosco - Innovate with Passion

Locating around the beautiful Lake Iseo area in Lombardy, northern Italy, Franciacorta is the wine region that produces top sparkling wine, using the same grape varieties as in Champagne, and in the same traditional method of secondary bottle fermentation and maturation. The history of winemaking in the region has been over 800 years, whilst sparkling wine starts to be made in about 50 years. Many winemakers put endless effort and innovation to craft the best sparkling wine comparable to champagne. In 1995, Franciacorta received the top Italian wine classification of DOCG. The main grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) and Pinot Bianco. One of the top wineries in Franciacorta is the Ca’del Bosco.
 
 
The story of Ca’del Bosco started in the 1960’s when the young Maurizio Zanella, owner of the estate, moved to Erbusco with his mother who bought a vineyard there. At the age of fifteen, Maurizio tasted his first sip of Franciacorta and fell in love with wine. After a trip to the Champagne region in France later, he was inspired to make the best sparkling wine in Italy. In the 1970’s, he returned to Franciacorta and Start up Ca’del Bosco for his passion in wine.
 
Ca’ del Bosco Cuvée Annamaria Clementi 2005/2008
Cuvée Annamaria Clementi is the product of an unremitting quest for excellence in vineyard and cellar. The Franciacorta Millesimato is dedicated to Maurizio Zanella’s mother, founder of Ca’ del Bosco, and becomes the prestigious Cuvée Annamaria Clementi. Base wines are obtained exclusively from the highest village that takes place directly in small oak barrels. Chardonnay 55%, Pinot Bianco 25%, Pinot Nero 20% where it aged for about 7 months. The long aging in bottle in contact with yeasts in the underground cellar at a constant temperature of 12 ° C, making Annamaria Clementi purer with integrated bubble. It is balanced with good acidity and minerality, fabulous airy nose with a citrus note which refreshes your palate and makes you go back for a glass continuously.
